There are few things in this world more precious than new life. Jay and Jake are expecting their first child in this winter, and I was so lucky to be invited to capture a few photos of this lil' family as they prepared to share the big news with their loved ones.
Congratulations, Jay and Jake. Your little one will be so loved with you at his side through life.
At the heart of it, a wedding is all about the bride and groom. In just an hour, Robelene & Irman were married in the Los Osos Elfin Forest Preserve, enjoyed an intimate dinner (and even a whole dance floor to themselves), and relaxed in Morro Bay. I was able to capture some memories of them getting each other ready for the ceremony and enjoying their time together afterward.

Nestldown in Los Gatos is tucked away in the Santa Cruz mountains, and that place is magical. I snapped these photos from Chen & Jingru's wedding day while second shooting for Patrick Ang. Check out his page for all of the amazing pics!
I set up a little mobile studio with two umbrella lights to get some moody results in a dark room with a black backdrop. We were going for a simple, moody, and soft feel and I think we got it! I had the incredible honor of contributing to this family's story. Months ago, I was invited to capture a portrait of Shea and Noriyko, beautiful mommies to 3-year-old Z, with the intention of providing a photo that would serve as the last piece in a storybook to be prepared for the birth mother of their newest family member. Alongside Shea & Noriyko's incredible family history, this is the photo that helped to win over a birth mother's heart. Little did we know that 13 days after a designer assembled the portfolio, these two women would be paired as mommies to baby T.
These two photo shoots are a source of incredible pride for me personally, because it not only shows the beautiful family they are on the outside, but helped to tell the intimate story behind the faces. Ultimately, this is why I love doing what I do -- to help families grow.
Meeting baby T was such a privilege. We met on her first day home at 1 month old, and here are the results. Thank you, Shea & Noriyko!
