Neha Tiwari Portrait Photography: San Francisco SoMA

I am so in love with these photos of Neha! She is lined up for some speaking events and it was time for an updated headshot. I met her in SoMA where she revealed an alley that had so much character. After assessing the decor, we chose several backgrounds that gave the appearance of doing a big tour, but we really only walked a block or two. We are efficient! 

Neha is currently an Executive Producer at CBS Interactive Games making awesome content for GameSpot. We worked together waaaaay back in the day at Revision3 and have been friends ever since -- the kind of friend you want to wear pajamas with while eating Taco Bell or sushi (or both simultaneously).

Nelson & Jennifer: San Francisco Stow Lake Family Photography

Quick #momlife story -- sometimes kids fall asleep on the car ride home, and it would be disastrous for all parties to wake your kiddo up. So sometimes, I drive to somewhere beautiful to enjoy the view and wait for my son to wake up so we can play. It turns out, when my little Noah woke up, we spent a solid few hours hiking around Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park finding the best sticks to carry, the cutest flowers to pick, and generally just running around. 

Naturally, I had to suggest this location to Nelson and Jennifer who were looking for family portraits with their baby boy, Nicholas. There is so much love here -- you can totally see it, goofiness or not. :) Thanks for inviting me to capture these adorable moments, friends!

San Francisco Headshot Photography: Shaun at Ghiradelli Square and Fort Mason

Meet Shaun, a senior media and technology professional with a knack for building great teams and evangelizing innovative technology platforms. We met for lunch at Miller's on Polk and spent a couple hours touring the Ghiradelli Square and Fort Mason area to shoot some new headshots for LinkedIn and beyond. We both attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and he, too loves photography -- except his subjects are usually beautiful automotive machines.

There are so many strong lines and textures in this area that are conducive for business use. I'll definitely be back! Here is a sampling of our results:

Our last stop on our headshot tour was visiting a beautiful rooftop. If you've been following my work, you've seen it before. But this is the first time I photographed this angle. So fun! Thanks for hanging, Shaun. Great posing!

San Francisco Fashion Photography: Jake's Colorful Business Wear for Spring!

The Financial District has gorgeous hidden gems! Jake and I met for some delicious matcha tea followed by a quick "outfit of the day" lunchtime session for her blog and Instagram. We agreed that it's a blessing to live in San Francisco, where you can find contrasting beauty around every corner. :)

Oakland Family Photography: Bing & Paula at the Oakland Museum

In all my years of living in the Bay Area, how have I never visited the Oakland Museum? This was a wonderful discovery that my client suggested because our original outdoor location was foiled by HUGE rain. The hide-out-in-your-car type of rain. I'd love to return at some point when the weather is clear, because there's a gorgeous public courtyard with so many picturesque options for portraits.

Bing and Paula celebrated their first year of parenthood as their daughter, Naima turned one. They brought along extended family for the portrait session and we got some excellent shots using mostly natural light and a flash where allowed with a Lightblade. The love this family has for each other really shines through. Thank you, Lim family for inviting me to capture these moments! <3
