Shannon (Snubs!) is in my camera, and it looks like we should turn this into an annual tradition. You may have seen her in my feed with fire hair, but her brand has evolved alongside her purple locks.
We toured Polk Street and wandered into some of the best places - Bob's Donuts, Saint Franks Coffee and more. I look forward to seeing Shannon everywhere you can find her: https://snubsie.com will lead you to TekThing, ThreatWire, Hak5, and of course her very own Snubs Report.
I love how her photos came out, not to mention we got some silly/artsy shots in while catching up. :)
Fresh off of my own maternity leave, I am so delighted to have captured these family moments in baby Lia's first week of life. Congratulations, Alison and Chris!
Paul Love and I often talk about passion and how to make dreams turn into reality. I personally believe that compelling personalities have a willingness to throw themselves into that said passion with their whole heart. It matters less what the passion is, and it matters more to simply have one and own it... and when you go full immersion, that's when the magic happens.
In Paul's case, he is an avid sports fisherman. The man literally lives and breathes the sport in a way that networks like-minded individuals via shared stories, insights & perspectives, reflecting mutual respect for one another. Through Local Water, Paul aims "to expose our sport in the truest form of passion possible" through the eyes of anyone who shares the same passion for fishing.
We met for a set of portraits in San Francisco's Pacific Heights on a cloudy day and came up with some great shots that reflect Paul's goals for Local Water. And because we're friends who laugh a lot while catching up, I also took some just-for-fun photos, even testing out a new prism with my lens on a rooftop. :) Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

You may or may not have noticed, but I've had a short hiatus from formally shooting with clients since April. I'm happy to share with you what's been keeping me busy during this time off -- my baby girl, Alexandra Quinn. She is about 1 month old now and we've been adjusting to a family of 4 and re-acquainting ourselves with joining team-no-sleep!
Since newborn photography is one of my specialties, I absolutely loved being on the other side as a mommy. It's hard for moms to put themselves together so early after giving birth. Taking a shower is a luxury, and doing your hair and makeup is ridiculously hard to do when you're constantly sticking a boob in a little baby's face. And let's not get started about finding a dress to wear if you haven't already purchased one before the baby arrived. Ugh. I have a deep appreciation for my clients who choose to invest in a newborn lifestyle session, because it's a commitment to making memories for yourselves and the kids. In that manner, I wanted to take my own advice.
I also pride myself on teaching and mentoring. Ever since I've been learning, I've loved helping others to learn. This time, I had Tiffany Ho join me at my home. She's amazing and has been my assistant and associate photographer on client shoots over the past year. We walked through all the poses I typically shoot, worked on lighting strategy, and I was able to mentor in managing newborns with their wakeful/sleepy temperaments. I also have a ton of solo shots of the baby girl, but we will save those for another day.
Here are a few of our favorite shots of my very own family. Thanks for reading & looking in on these pictures - they mean a ton to me and I can't wait to resume shooting in July for other families experiencing the same joy my husband, Cory & first-born, Noah feel now. :) xo
