I set up a little mobile studio with two umbrella lights to get some moody results in a dark room with a black backdrop. We were going for a simple, moody, and soft feel and I think we got it! I love my mobile studio because I can bring it anywhere. If you want some headshots like this, we can set up a quick 45 min session. Contact me -- these are great for shooting after you're off work!
Shea and Noriyko's Growing Family - New Baby!
I had the incredible honor of contributing to this family's story. Months ago, I was invited to capture a portrait of Shea and Noriyko, beautiful mommies to 3-year-old Z, with the intention of providing a photo that would serve as the last piece in a storybook to be prepared for the birth mother of their newest family member. Alongside Shea & Noriyko's incredible family history, this is the photo that helped to win over a birth mother's heart. Little did we know that 13 days after a designer assembled the portfolio, these two women would be paired as mommies to baby T.
These two photo shoots are a source of incredible pride for me personally, because it not only shows the beautiful family they are on the outside, but helped to tell the intimate story behind the faces. Ultimately, this is why I love doing what I do -- to help families grow.
Meeting baby T was such a privilege. We met on her first day home at 1 month old, and here are the results. Thank you, Shea & Noriyko!
Arcibal Family Celebrates 10 Years Together: Happy Anniversary!
Ten years married and three beautiful girls. Definitely family goals right here. Marc and Rachel were gifted an anniversary portrait session by their amazing friends, and I had the best time spending a couple of (sillllly) hours together in Golden Gate Park with this family.
I wanted to give these gorgeous parents portraits that remind them of their special bond over the past decade and beyond, "Because everything is better when I'm with you" as Rachel says to her hubby. <3
Lines, once parallel, turning perpendicular | Irman & Robelene on Ocean Beach
Irman & Robelene. That headline encompasses a big part of this couple's story, penned by the imminent groom. You can't tell from these sunny photos, but it was super cold and windy on this San Francisco summer day. When Robelene asked for wardrobe suggestions, I asked for a flowing dress and for her to keep her hair in a bun. That was the right move for the blustery weather! They wore open toed shoes, which was also smart... I got run over by a wave and had to borrow her shoes. :) Always a good time with these two. Enjoy!
#Edymeesh 2nd Anniversary Portrait Session
What a joy it was to meet Michelle and Edison (aka Edymeesh) for their 2nd anniversary. Year two's anniversary gift theme is "cotton" -- and these two put on some new threads in front of the camera, looking as beautiful and in love as ever.
It goes without saying that they look amazing, but I was more so inspired by stories of their willingness to takes steps in the same direction together towards de-stressing, chasing good health, and ultimately becoming happier than the day before. I use the world 'willingness' because these things don't passively come to you like a wrapped present with a bow on top. You have to put in collaborative work together to make it happen, and never take those accomplishments for granted.
Anniversary shoots are a nice reminder to look at relationships in a different, refreshing way. Thank you for inviting me to spend this time with you! We had so much fun. Take a look below!
